MNOISE can be used in a wide range of applications. Typical applications are the acoustic evaluation of
The difference in the particular application field is the applied excitation mechanism. In combustion engine applications the excitation forces from the crank train are dominant, which are located in the lower frequency range. For gearbox acoustics the meshing forces resulting from gear tooth engagement are responsible for e.g. whining noise in case of loaded gears. Beside the gear excitation also magnetic forces have to be investigated in eDrive systems. Both excitation mechanisms are in a wide frequency range. For vehicle body NVH studies the forces acting in the powertrain (via engine mounts) and chassis (road excitation) are used for a virtual acoustic evaluation.
